Registered Dietitian Referral Tips

If you’re a Registered Dietitian in our affiliate program, you don’t need to be a content creator to successfully share your referral link.

In fact, the most effective approach is simply integrating recommendations into what you’re already doing every day with patients.

Here are four easy, natural ways to do that:

Tip 1: Add It to Your Patient Workflow

You’re already making recommendations—this just makes it easier for patients to follow through.

Consider including your referral link in:

  • Post-appointment follow-up emails

  • Meal plans or snack suggestions

  • “Recommended products” handouts

Tip 2: Use Simple, Patient-Friendly Language

You don’t need to sound “salesy” to share your link. In fact, the simpler and more educational your language is, the better it performs.

For example,  “I often recommend this as a convenient option for increasing daily fiber intake.”

Tip 3: Leverage Email (Even Small Lists Work)

You don’t need a large audience to make an impact. Even a small patient list or group program email can drive meaningful traffic.

You can:

  • Include your link in a newsletter

  • Add it as a “PS” in routine emails

  • Share a quick “favorite products” spotlight

Example:

P.S. A lot of patients have been asking about easy snack options—this is one I recommend often: [Your Link]

Tip 4: Use QR Codes in Your Physical Space

If you see patients in person, this is one of the easiest and most effective tools.

You can place your unique QR code on:

  • Printed handouts

  • Office desks or waiting areas

  • Welcome packets

This allows patients to quickly access your recommendation on their own time—no extra explanation needed.
